Book consumption often varies according to age, gender, and ethnicity, but another key factor which affects how frequently U.S. adults read is their income. A survey held in early 2019 showed that ** percent of respondents with an annual household income of more than * U.S. dollars a year stated they had read at least one printed book in the previous 12 months, compared to just ** percent of those earning ** thousand per year or less.
