In 2020, the hotel industry was dramatically hit by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as several countries had to impose national lockdowns and restrict non-essential travels in order to limit the spread of the outbreak. A survey conducted in **** focused on the main operational measures adopted by hotels in Italy during the pandemic. Data show that about seven in ten hotels involved in the study focused on new standards and hygiene procedures. Moreover, ** percent of facilities invested in digital marketing, while ** percent preferred to reduce traditional marketing expenditures.
