In Belgium, half of the adult population had high cholesterol levels in 2018. During that year, over ** percent of Belgians, aged 40 to 64 years old, had a cholesterol level that exceeds 190mg/dl. A high level of cholesterol is especially associated to cardiovascular diseases.
