* The number of respondents was as follows: 3,607 from Flanders, 2,499 from the Brussels-Capital Region, and 3,576 from Wallonia.

In the Belgian region of Wallonia, roughly ** percent of the population, aged 15 years and older, had their blood sugar levels monitored during the last three years in 2018. The blood sugar level control in Wallonia was therefore than the Belgian average of roughly ** percent. On the other hand, Flanders had the lowest prevalence of blood sugar controlling in the country. Measuring blood sugar levels allows the prevention and detection of cardiovascular risks and diabetes.
