Plus was perceived as the most sustainable supermarket in the Netherlands in both 2019 and 2020. The supermarket chain received a grade of **** in 2020. Respondents to a widespread survey were asked to grade several supermarket brands in the Netherlands on their sustainability, on a scale from * to **. Spar came in second place in 2020, with a grade of ***. By comparison, market leader Albert Heijn and the second supermarket of the Netherlands Jumbo both had grades that were less than , although still above-average.
