According to a survey conducted from April to May 2021, the average number of outpatients at hospitals in Japan increased to around **** thousand in March 2021 from about **** thousand in the same period in the previous year. The number of outpatients was lowest in May 2020 after the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
