The Spanish Health Ministry made a series of arrangements as of the 17th April to validate the data collected by the Catalan health authorities. This change will affect the number of cumulative cases until the Ministry releases the newly adjusted figures.
*As of May 18, the Spanish Health Ministry discontinued the disclosure of information relating to the number of recoveries in the country.

Spain was one of the world's most affected countries by the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis in the world. Although the number of deaths creeped up rapidly, so did the number of people that could recover from the coronavirus disease, which stood at over 150 thousand as of May 18, 2020. As of the same date, the death toll of the coronavirus disease in this European country was over 28 thousand.
