The Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) aims to measure the factors and policies that make it attractive to develop the travel & tourism sector in different countries. The index is made up of four sub-indexes: Enabling Environment; Travel and Tourism Policy and Enabling Conditions; Infrastructure; and Natural and Cultural Resources. 136 countries are evaluated. The Index scores on a scale from 1 to 7 with 7 being the best rating.

In 2019, the segment which scored the highest in the travel and tourism competitiveness index in the Asia Pacific region was price competitiveness, in which Asia Pacific scored *** points out of seven. Comparatively, Asia Pacific scored *** points out of seven in terms of its cultural resources and business travel in 2019. Despite the lower score, the Asia Pacific region scored above the global average for cultural resources and business travel in 2019.
