According to a survey carried out in May 2020, over one fifth of cigarette consumers surveyed in Mexico reported to have increased their consumption amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, 12 percent of Mexican respondents who drink alcohol also said that they were consuming it more in the midst of the global health crisis.
