In January 2020, Disney had 193 TV series in production, and was reportedly the world's biggest commissioner of of first run TV shows, with an additional 23 pilot productions in the making and 125 shows in their early development phase. Netflix was producing 254 TV series, putting the company in first place in this regard, but had just 28 series in early development.
