As of May 2019, an investigation conducted by the non-profit organization Avaaz enabled the multi-billion dollar company Facebook to take down ** Italian Facebook pages for inauthentic behavior. The pages which were closed were spreading hate contents, misleading information, and far-right material. Many of them had a political content, such as "Vogliamo il movimento 5 stelle al governo" and "Lega Salvini Sulmona", which registered almost *** thousand and *** thousand interactions, respectively. Although some of the Facebook pages closed didn't look political, they were spreading far-right political information, including "I valori della vita" ("The values of life"), which reported ** interactions.
