According to a survey conducted on October 19, 2019, most Chileans agreed with massive subway fare evasions as a form of protest against the ticket price increases. Up to 65 percent of respondents said they agreed with avoiding paying metro fares as a way to oppose the price increase, while only 31 percent disagreed. The majority of people surveyed deemed such evasions a legitimate form of protest.
