According to source, problem users are those who score between 4 and 26 (for alcohol between 11 and 26) on the WHO ASSIST test and have experienced any harmful consequence of substance use within three months preceding the survey period. Dependent users are those who score over 26 points on the WHO ASSIST tests.

According to a survey on substance use in India, around **** percent of children used inhalant drugs between December 2017 and October 2018. This was a slightly higher share compared to adult users of inhalant drugs, and alarmingly **** percent of these children were classified as problem users of such drugs.
