According to a survey on substance use in India between December 2017 and October 2018, it was found that ** percent of people who were addicted to drugs or alcohol tried to quit but did not receive any treatment. On the other hand only ** percent of the surveyed respondents stated that they received help for their alcohol or drug dependence, indicating a pressing need for better access to de-addiction treatments in the country.
