Throughout most of 2020, the air passenger traffic in Latin America and the Caribbean recorded negative year-over-year growth, with rates even plunging by more than 90 percent in the months from April to June of that year. Despite signs of recovery in the following months, the region's commercial aviation still had a long way to go as of March 2021, when the year-over-year change in passenger traffic was at approximately -35 percent.
