Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of air passengers transported by the affiliated airlines of Avianca Holdings S.A. plummeted in to only *** domestic travelers. Between May and August of that same year, the Colombian airline's passenger traffic showed slight increases, though remaining below ** thousand per month. Since the Colombian government authorized the resumption of commercial airline operations in ****, the number of Avianca air travelers had gone up steadily but it is still far from the levels recorded in the months prior to the coronavirus crisis.
