This statistic shows the distribution of domestic tourists in Italy in 2017, by the macro-area of origin and destination (North-West, North-East, Central, South and Islands). According to the study, the North-West was the macro-area recording the highest percentage of tourists who were also residents in that same area (**** percent of the overall presence of domestic tourists). Conversely, the Center recorded the lowest share of tourists from its own macro-area.
