Money market in China - statistics & facts
The monetary policy of China aims to keep the value of the RMB stable and contribute to economic growth. By the end of 2024, the M2 supply in China amounted to 313 trillion yuan, equaling around 43.6 trillion U.S. dollars. Since November 2018, China’s central bank, People’s Bank of China has issued central bank bills in Hong Kong’s offshore market. The amount of issued central bank bills in Hong Kong amounted to 160 billion yuan in the first year.
