Healthcare in Poland - statistics & facts
The Polish healthcare system is public and based on an insurance model. In this model, a mandatory health contribution is paid on wages earned. With these contributions, the responsible body (the National Health Fund鈥擭FZ) finances health services provided to the insured and reimburses medicines. The NFZ, employers, and the state budget finance part of the health premiums. In 2024, public spending on healthcare amounted to 6.3 percent of GDP.
