The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team competing in the National Football League (NFL) in the AFC North division. The franchise was established in 1996 as part of a settlement agreement between the league and former Cleveland Browns owner, Art Modell, to form an expansion team in Baltimore, Maryland. The Ravens have made two Super Bowl appearances, one in 2001 and another in 2013. On both occasions the Ravens won the championship game, making them one of two NFL teams to hold a perfect record after competing in multiple Super Bowls. The only other team with a perfect record and multiple Super Bowl appearances is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
