Internet usage in Morocco - statistics & facts
Internet accessibility and usage have grown rapidly in Morocco in recent times. With the growing digitalization and ownership of digital devices, the number of people using the internet has increased steadily in the country, from around 22 million in 2017 to more than 35 million in 2025. The internet penetration rate followed a similar trend, growing from less than 62 percent to 92 percent between 2017 and 2025, respectively. Not surprisingly, Morocco ranks among the African countries with the largest online population, only after Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, and Algeria.
