The Italian market of coffee pods and capsules experienced a steady growth over the past few years. A report released by about this market, reveals that in 2023, Lavazza S.p.A., Nestlè Italiana S.p.A., and Illy Caffè S.p.A. were the major players of the sector in Italy.  Â
Increasing production of pods and capsules…
 The figures regarding the financial status of a significant sample of companies, which produce and supply coffee pods and capsules in the country show increasing trends. In fact, over the last few years, the production value and the value added generated by those firms generally grew, and in 2023 they amounted to ****million euros and *** million euros, respectively.  
…Does it mean replacing traditional coffee pots? 
Figures may suggest that new coffee preparation habits are arising among Italians. More specifically, it may be assumed that coffee consumers are replacing traditional means to make coffee, such as the moka pot, with faster coffee makers, which requires pods and capsules.
