729 qualified sustainability experts completed this online questionnaire, and were drawn from the following sectors: 5% government, 23% service and media, 16% academic and research, 36% corporate, 15% NGOs and 6% other. The surveyed experts span 70 countries in the following regions: 30% North America, 37% Europe, 20% Asia Pacific, 8% Latin America and 6% Africa.

Original question: "How would you rate the performance of each of the following types of organizations in terms of its contribution to progress on sustainable development since the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio? Please use a scale where 1 is “poor” and 5 is “excellent”." Figures do not add up to 100 as other answers were not included.
* The "Excellent" figures represent the share of experts awarding a score of 4 or 5 in the described scale.
** The "Poor" figures represent the the share of experts awarding a score of 1 or 2 in the described scale.
