Supplementary notes
The Gini index or Gini coefficient is a statistical measure of distribution measuring income distribution or, less commonly, wealth distribution among a population. A Gini index of 0 represents perfect equality, while an index of 100 implies perfect inequality.
Figures for earlier years have been taken from the annual Report on the Survey of Family Income and Expenditure published by Taiwan National Statistics.
