Visa led the market in Singapore in 2024 with a ** percent share. It was followed by Mastercard, used by approximately **** of consumers, while the domestic scheme NETS accounted for ** percent of the market. NETS is Singapore's domestic network for debit cards, originally set up by a consortium of banks. Whilst the leading card scheme in the country, NETS, does not have a similar dominance as, for example, Dankort in Denmark or UnionPay in China. Singapore's most popular POS payment methods somewhat reveal why some of the major card schemes are relatively close to each other, as credit cards, cash, and debit cards all vie for the top position in the country.
