Among 39 included studies, the mean age of participants was 15.16 years (age range, 11.9-17.0 years). Studies were available for sending (n = 34), receiving (n = 20), forwarding without consent (n = 5), and having a sext forwarded without consent (n = 4).
This statistic shows the share of teenagers in the United States who have encountered sexting June 2016. The findings show that 14.8 percent of teenagers in the United States had sent a sext, and 12 percent had forwarded a sext without permission from the original sender.
