The Brazilian smartphone market
Despite the number of smartphone shipments fluctuating in the past few years, the number of Brazilians owning mobile devices has steadily increased. Indeed, few Brazilians were willing to spend more than Brazilian reais on their smartphones.
Samsung and Motorola rule over Apple
Apple is not a major player in the Brazilian smartphone market. This role is played by Samsung and Motorola, which, in 2023, were the most important smartphone vendors in the country, accounting for a market share of about **** percent and ** percent, respectively. By contrast, Apple ranked third, with around 14 percent of mobile devices operating on iOS.
