In 2025, ****people died from rabies in China, the highest annual figure since 2019. In the first quarter of 2026, ** deaths had been recorded. Rabies is a vaccine-preventable deadly viral disease spread to people from the saliva of infected animals, mostly dogs. This infection is predominant in Asia and Africa.
