Over the course of 2022, more than 57 percent of the female population over 11 years of age in Italy consumed some kind of alcoholic beverage at least once. Breaking down this figure by type of beverage, wine proved to be the most popular drink, with 45.2 percent of women consuming wine at least once over the previous 12 months, whereas the share of female individuals who drank beer at least once in 2022 was assessed at 39.6 percent.
