In the Dominican Republic, the corruption perception index score totaled 36 points. This represents a one-point increase in comparison to last year's score. Moreover, out of 30 Latin American countries ranked on the corruption perception index in 2023, the Dominican Republic ranked 18th.

This index is a composite indicator that includes data on the perception of corruption in areas such as bribery of public officials, kickbacks in public procurement, embezzlement of state funds, and effectiveness of governments' anti-corruption efforts. The worst possible score in perception of corruption is 0, whereas a score of 100 indicates that no corruption is perceived in the respective country.
