This statistic shows the results of a survey conducted in Italy among banks, FinTech companies and other financial institutions as of 2017. The aim of the survey was to find out in which emerging technologies are large Fintech companies and large financial institutions planning to invest within the next 12 months. As a general trend, it can be observed that Fintech companies are driving market changes and the planned investments between Fintech companies and financial institutions differ substantially.
With regard to the blockchain technology, ** percent of the surveyed Fintech companies claimed they will carry out investments in this area, whereas only ** percent of the interviewed financial institutions stated to have the same purpose for the next 12 months.
