Marlboro ranked as Spain’s favorite cigarette brand, taking up approximately **** percent of the tobacco market share in that year. 

The Spanish smoker’s way

Spanish smokers are not all that keen on rolling their own cigarettes, with less than ** percent of them using loose tobacco (also known as shag) to assemble their roll-your-owns. Spain’s smoking population favors the more conveniently pre-packed cigarettes from the factory, as reported by around ** of smokers. The latest reports also reveal that most tobacco users smoke between * and ** cigarettes a day.

The demographics of tobacco use in Spain

Extramadura was the Spanish autonomous community that featured the highest consumption of tobacco, with a quarter of its population reported to be daily smokers. Approximately half of Spanish regions registered a prevalence of tobacco use of ** percent, or slightly over. Andalusia ranked, on the other hand, as the Spanish autonomous community with the highest number of smokers, totting up over *** million daily smokers.
