A futures contract is an agreement between two parties whereby they commit to exchange an underlying asset at a determined future price and date. Financial futures are a class of financial derivatives, whose underlying assets consist of stocks, interest rates or stock indices.
In Spain, futures on the IBEX 35, shares, the dividend index, stock dividends and the 10-year Notional Bonus are traded on the Official Secondary Futures and Options Market (MEFF).
