A warrant is a financial derivative that gives the owner the right, but not the obligation, to buy (call option) or to sell (put option) an underlying asset at an exercise price (strike price), for a period of time until the expiration date in exchange for payment of a premium. It differs from the options, among others, because these are traded on the Official Spanish Market of Options and Financial Futures (MEFF), while the warrants are traded on the electronic platform SIBE (trading system of equity securities of the four Spanish stock exhcanges).
