 According to a survey conducted in the year 2016, Spotify and Deezer were the most popular music streaming providers in France: ** percent of the respondents declared using Spotify, while ** percent said having an account on Deezer. As of 2018, another survey displays that the most used online video and audio streaming service was YouTube, with ** percent of usage rate among French, just before Deezer which was mentioned by ** percent of Internet users.  

Online music purchases

  Founded in France in the , Deezer appeared to be the service of streaming technology through which French purchased the most music: ** percent of respondents, according to the ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ Global Consumer Survey conducted in France in early 2019, stated having bought music downloads or streaming services from this platform in the past 12 months. Moreover, about a third of responding French in all age groups had a paid subscription to an online music provider in 2018. The habit of listening and buying music from streaming services takes a growing share of the music market in France and in the year, about half of the revenue of the music industry was related to digital consumption.  

Online music usage

   Listening to music using streaming services was a daily activity for about a quarter of French responding to a survey in the year 2017, and half of young French users aged 15 to 29 years spent between *** and **** hours listening to online music. Regarding the support used for digital music consumption in France, it appears that ** percent of French listened to music on their smartphone, while less than half of the surveyed did so on laptops.
