North America is Land Rover’s most important market. In its fiscal year ending March 31, 2020, the British brand sold around * passenger cars to European consumers. The brand's domestic sales also stayed above European and Chinese figures.
Land Rover is part of the Jaguar Land Rover company, which in turn is owned by Indian automotive giant Tata Motors. Jaguar Land Rover was established in 2008, joining the two longstanding British luxury brands Jaguar and Land Rover. It also owns the rights to Daimler, Lanchester and Rover, which are currently non-operational.

Discovery Sport’s ascend

The Discovery Sport is the most popular Land Rover model. Global sales amounted to * units in 2018. This was followed by another sports model, the Range Rover Sport, at * units.
The Discovery Sport is the successor to the brands Freelander model, it is a luxury crossover SUV first introduced in 2014 and currently in its second generation.

Jaguar Land Rover sales volume

Jaguar Land Rover’s retail sales volume declined to ** units in its 2019 fiscal year. It was the first time since 2011, the first year in the period of consideration, that figures decreased, falling from a peak of some ** units sold the year prior.
