During the lockdowns in the second quarter of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, e-commerce revenues generated by hypermarkets, supermarkets, and food stores in Spain soared. Although the opening returned to normal, these figures have remained well above pre-pandemic times, reaching an all-time high in the fourth quarter of 2022, where the sector's revenues were nearly *** million euros.
