The COVID-19 pandemic drove an unprecedented surge in online shopping at hypermarkets, supermarkets, and grocery stores in Spain. Even after easing coronavirus-related restrictions, e-commerce transactions in the food sector remained above pre-crisis levels, hitting a record high in the last quarter of 2022.
