As a result, the expenditure of international tourists in Italy as a share of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) declined dramatically in 2020 over the previous year. In 2020, the spending of inbound travelers in Italy accounted for *** percent of the Italian GDP, while it made up *** percent of Italy's GDP in 2019.
