In 2025, the average Dutch person consumed more than *** kilos of dairy. This was more than in neighboring country Belgium, where the average consumption reached just over ** kilos that year. Milk was the most frequently consumed dairy product in the Netherlands in 2025, with an average per capita consumption of ****Ìý°ì¾±±ô´Ç²õ.
Looking at the average daily consumption of dairy in the Netherlands, it is not surprising that milk and milk-drinks topped the ranking, with nearly *** grams per person per day in the period between 2012 and 2016. Yoghurt came in second place, at roughly ** gram per day. By comparison, the daily consumption of ice cream in the Netherlands was just under *** grams daily. 
Dairy products are consumed in the Netherlands throughout the entire day. The same study found that dairy consumption is divided almost equally between the four consumption moments breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-between. Breakfast scored the highest, with roughly ** percent of the total dairy consumption daily.
