This statistic shows the average internet connection speed in Germany from the first quarter of 2014 to the first quarter of 2017 (in Mbit/s). The connection speed increased from 8.1 Mbit/s to 15.3 Mbit/s throughout this period. As the share of households with broadband internet access increases, so does the internet speed. With a higher demand for faster internet by consumers, the telecommunications industry must keep up.
