Romania witnessed a remarkable surge in internet usage in January 2024, with users reaching a staggering 18 million, signifying a notable increase of approximately 240,000 from the previous year. Furthermore, the time spent online also increased; a third of the urban population and 65 percent of young unmarried adults spent over four hours online daily. By June 2024, the need for digital content boosted the average daily broadband internet traffic per capita to reach 2.9 gigabytes.
