Between 2008 and 2022, cocaine prices in the Netherlands remained stable at around ** euros per gram. The price of cocaine peaked in 2012 and again in 2014, at ** euros, before decreasing again slightly. In 2023, a gram of cocaine in the Netherlands sold for ** euros. This was significantly higher than the price of amphetamine, which on average cost around  euros per gram that year.
 Cocaine use on the rise
Cocaine use, although still relatively low compared to other drugs such as cannabis or ecstasy, is on the rise. The Trimbos Institute’s survey on drug use among adults has been running since 1997, and the share of respondents stating to have used cocaine at least once in their lives as of 2022 was *** percent. In 2022, *** percent of all respondents answered to have used cocaine in the last month.
Who are the cocaine users?
Cocaine use in the Netherlands was most common among 20-29 year olds. The most recent survey found that of 20-24 year olds, *** percent had used cocaine in the past year. Among the 25-29 year olds, this was even higher, at *** percent.
