Data obtained through a monitoring system designed for the usage of vehicle safety equipment. The project "Ulisse" is conducted by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in collaboration with the Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti.
The detection network allows to obtain feedback on the usage of front seat belts, rear seat belts, helmets, child seats and phones within 19 cities located throughout the national territory, covering a population of over 9 million people. The monitoring activities were carried out in urban areas, sub-urban areas and in some cases extra urban areas.
