In Italy, between 2013 and 2019, the revenue of pop music performances sharply increased. In 2013 the revenue of such events amounted to roughly 293.5 million euros, peaking at 468.6 million euros in 2019. However, in 2020 the revenue of music performances dropped significantly to 30 million euros. This change was due to the COVID-19 pandemic during which most concerts and events were cancelled to stop the outbreak.
