Until 1997, the Eurovision Song Contest consisted in one night. In the statistic, data from 1987 to 1997 refer to the unique night, while figures from 2011 to 2020 refer to the finale.

As of the survey period, the average audience share in Italy for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest peaked in 2022 at nearly ***percent of the audience. Since then, the Italian audiences seemed to have shown more interest in the contest, as the broadcaster recorded audience shares that were stabilizing at around ***percent. This marked a considerable increase compared to the figures recorded in the 2010s, when Italy made a return to the contest after a break of almost 15 years.
