The fair trade certificate proves that the respective product has been fairly traded. Fair trade is a form of controlled trade designed to address power imbalances in international trading as well as fluctuating market prices. For example, a price floor is set to ensure a specified price for the producers and producers are paid a premium on top for communal investments. Furthermore, production methods are subject to international ecological and social standards.
