The Annual Business Survey uses a sample of data from around 62,000 businesses in the Non-Financial Economy in Great Britain and some 11,000 in Northern Ireland to draw estimated totals for the whole business population.
In 2024, biotechnological research and development contributed approximately two billion British pounds of aGVA in the UK. This was a significant increase in comparison to 2020.Â
