The United Kingdom (UK), especially London, is known as one of the technology hubs of the world. East London Tech City has also been named the Silicon Roundabout, after the famous Silicon Valley in San Francisco. This area has one of the largest tech startup clusters around the globe. Of course, along with numerous tech companies come many other economic implications. For example, Big Data analytics was estimated to bring an economic benefit of approximately 240 billion British pounds from 2015 to 2020. Employment is another good indicator of a prospering economic sector. As of 2015, there were around 931 thousand employees in the IT, software and computer services economy in the UK. Another example is the number of programmers and software developers in the UK, of which there were a total of 292 thousand as of June 2017.
