This statistic displays the age at which individuals in the EU-28 started smoking on a regular basis. During this period of time, 41 percent of respondents said they started smoking on a regular basis when they were between the age of 15 and 25 years old, whereas 37 percent started smoking between the age of 15 and 18 years old. Only a minority of five percent started smoking when they were older than 25 years old.
